Escape the city and step into a small peaceful village garden where colors are hidden in the leaves around us. This beginner-friendly workshop invites you to experience a slower, more local side of Yogyakarta by visiting our community garden and learning how to create beautiful natural dyes from plants that grow in our surroundings. Your journey begins with a walk through our garden, where you'll pick fresh leaves directly from trees and plants used for natural dyeing. Guided by local artisans, you'll discover how nature can transform ordinary fabric into one-of-a-kind textiles with earthy and organic colors. This workshop runs for 5 hours(300 minutes), giving you plenty of time to learn, create, and enjoy the experience. During the workshop, you will learn: 1. How to identify the best fabrics for natural dyeing 2. The essential preparation processes, including scouring, mordanting, and fixation 3. How to create natural dye extracts 4. Basic techniques for dyeing fabric with plant-based colors 5. How to forage and harvest leaves sustainably from the garden This is more than a craft workshop.
